In the past, when people built a temple,
they would divide a temple into 2 sides. People would
hire artisans with different styles to construct
the two sides of a temple, making artisans to fully
present their skills without any reservations, which
is called “contenders”.
Also, people might hire different artisans to construct
different temples, which is called “antagonist of skills”.
It would allow to present diverse, skillful, and styling
decoration of temples architecture.
In order to inherit such a spirit, we have invited
20 contemporary artisans of colored pottery to place
their works all together at the same wall. It will
also allow artisans appreciating one another's works,
learning from each other, as well as letting audiences
appreciate diverse works. |
